what is
roller derby?

Roller derby is a full-contact sport played on quad roller skates.

Perth Roller Derby play the rules of Women's Flat Track Roller Derby.

A game or 'bout', consists of two 30 minute halves. The game is made up of 'jams' that can last up to two minutes, where each team can field a 'jammer' and four 'blockers', including a 'pivot'.

The players skate together on an oval-shaped track, with the jammer scoring a point for each blocker they pass from the opposing team. The blockers try to stop the opposing jammer from passing, while also providing offense for their jammer to help them through the pack and score points.
