End of Season 2009!

Well the Bloody Sundaes showed they weren't so easy to beat second time around, closing the gap by half to just 20pts this time.
Final score: Mistresses of Mayhem 103 def the Bloody Sundaes 83.

2010 Season:
Dates are being confirmed for next year's season and will kick off in May 2010.

We're also actively recruiting for new league members, so do you fancy yourself as a potential derby girl or stripey loving Zebra (ref)? Come to our info session on Sunday Dec 13 @ 6.30pm, 715 Beaufort St, Mt Lawley and we'll give you more details about how and when. Sat Nov 28 at Midvale SpeedDome, Eddie Barron Drive, Midland. Doors open 7pm, first whistle at 8pm. Licensed event!

Perth Roller Derby League is holding a free information session to answer all of your questions and let you know how you can try out/help out our league next year!

When: Sun 1 Nov, 6.30 pm
Where: Mt Lawley Neighbourhood Learning Centre, 715 Beaufort St (please park in the side streets)

Zombie ROLLLLLLLLL!

This Thursday eve, October 8, PRD rollergirls will be joining forces with all the film festival fiends from A Night of Horror to get gory and skate through Leederville on the official Perth Zombie Walk of 2009.

The blood flows from 7:30pm, and the rollergirls will be sticking around for the opening night party at Luna, with short films, food and drink, and Fear of Comedy playing live.

We'd love to share some love and guts and see you there!

We Seek VOLUNTEERS! Do you seek freebies?

The rollergirls and guys of PRD are looking for volunteers for their up-coming bout on a Saturday in November (date TBC), 7PM in Midland.

We need three volunteers for box office/door duties, two for the merchandise stand and two volunteers responsible for score boards!

The last bout in August sold out well in advance, so if you'd like free entry to the hottest show in town, contact Hot Polly Urethane by sending a website message or emailing her NOW.

METAL Mayhem!

It's time to get rowdy and worship Satan -- Satan's Advocate, that is...

This Saturday night is METAL night!

Yep, it's a hardcore rollerdisco! PRD: pushin' boundaries. Two awesome local bands will be playing live on the rink: Blunt Force Trauma and Pale As Ashes.

When, where and how? Morley Rollerdrome, 95 Catherine St, Morley, on Saturday 5 September, 9:30-11:30PM. Entry is $10 at the door, which includes skate hire (or $2 extra for blades.) This event is 15+, alcohol and drug free.

Mistresses of Mayhem WIN

Congratulations to the Mistresses of Mayhem, commiserations to the Bloody Sundaes, and a whole lot o' love to all our supporters who came out to the Speed Dome for Perth Roller Derby's FIRST EVER BOUT!

The Bloody Sundaes took an early lead, stretching the gap to at least 20 points quite quickly. The Mistresses of Mayhem fought back though, to first equalise the scores and then slip in front just in time for half-time.

In the second half, the Mistresses pressed on against very strong and skilful opposition from the Sundaes, and each team sacrificed a player to injury in the dying minutes. (We wish Trans Em and Minnie Screwdriver speedy recoveries!)

The final result saw the Mistresses of Mayhem come out on top, as the victors of Season One: Bout One.

Final Score: Mistresses 131 - Sundaes 91
MVP: PB Jam, Mistress of Mayhem
Dirtiest Player: PT Bruza, Bloody Sundae
Best Stack: Femme Ferox, Mistress of Mayhem, for a stunning high-speed crash into a row of chairs courtesy of a solid Sundae hit!

Now get ready for Bout Two in November, as the Sundaes square up to settle the score and the Mistresses go out to prove their first win wasn't a fluke.
